Just released a new single today "Didn't Mean To Hurt You". The song was written and recorded in my studio in New Westminster and features long time musical partners Frank Baker on Drums and Andrew Lorimer on Keyboards, with Garry Koenig on Bass and Brian Jones on Guitar. You can preview and purchase the new CD on iTunes at: Garrett or on my website at: www.seangarrett.net.
Wow it's been a long time since I have been to my blog page. A lot has happened over the past year. I released a new CD Seventh Star in November 2011. It currently available on iTunes, Amazon and other online stores. The CD has done quite well since its release!!!
I haven't been writing as much original material this year as I have been producing a CD for a very talented songwriter and musician Robin Atchison. We are all done the tracking and now its time to mix. The album should be ready for mastering in the next month or so.
I will be hosting a Wednesday Nite Jam with Frank Baker and Rick Boulter starting October 3rd, 2012 at The Columbia Theatre in New Westminster. The theatre first opened in 1927 and it was recently restored to its original glory needless to say we are looking forward to having the opportunity to play on this amazing stage.
Check out my website for updated information and have a listen to the new CD while you are there. www.seangarrett.net
Cheers,
Sean
Just finished writing a new song "The Son Will Rise". We thought it would be fun to create a little video to go with it so we went to Animoto and came up with this.
I will be heading into the studio next week to record my new CD "Feeding The Crazy", as pre-production is now complete. This CD will feature 11 new songs with some of my favourite musicians joining me on various tracks. Stay tuned for upcoming details... In the meantime sit back enjoy the song and visuals.
All the best...

Vancouver based Garrett is developing an exciting reputation by combining his incredible passion for music with the ability to deliver with a modern rock edge. Garrett pushes the boundaries of what we perceive to be cutting edge music by recontextualizing the elements of symphonic rock and progressive metal with a modern melodic rock feel. His lyrical imagery and impassioned vocal prowess finds him conquering new boundaries. His sound is uniquely his own, yet it pays homage to those musical masters that came before him.
"I am looking to get back the same feeling I had when I all first started writing music. When I start thinking beyond that, about wanting to keep up with the latest musical trends or about fitting in with somebody else's format that's when I lose sense of purpose. For me music is a spiritual journey, it allows me to contribute towards a peaceful world through the global language we call music. All the things I talk about in my songs are personal and real. Life is full of obstacles but you must also realize that the challenges are there to overcome”.... says Garrett
Garrett studied voice under the late legendary Maestro David P. Kyle in Seattle, Washington. His favourite Kyle quote which still resonates home today.... “Create what you like. It doesn't really matter if they love you, hate you, like you or don't like you. Just make a lot of noise and make sure they hear you."

Some of the latest reviews on Good Morning Good Afternoon... Awarded Best Production & Best Mood in Alternative Rock on Garageband Week of March 13, 2010
“The melody is good, and there is obviously songwriting talent in this band. Very moody and cool.” - Stolen Rose Portland, Oregon
“I love it. This song could easily be used in an action movie or as an intro to a daytime soap opera. The intro is very captivating as it has sort of an electric middle east sound. really love the strong vocals and lyrics. This song has a good steady piano part with just the right amount of repetitiveness. the insertion of the acoustic in the parts following the chorus helps keep it interesting and the electrics small solo brings power to the song and ties it together quite well.”
- Unspecified
“Interesting effects in the beginning with the phone-speaking kind of voice. It is always nice to put some new instruments in a rock band, like you did with organ.” - Morning Velvet Montréal, Quebec, Canada
“Love it. Big fan of songs that actually go somewhere, from the intro, to the nicely done doubled voices and acoustic guitar intro.. cool stuff. Piano kicks in with classic "blip blip" piano chords contrasting with synths and cool vocals. Really nicely done.” - mcham Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
“I like the production of this song, very well crafted. After listening the second time it really grew on me just like a great song should.....yes I love this song.... cheers...oh yeah!...very original.” junno - Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
“Nice work, interesting arrangement. the vocals are nice. Keep up the good work guys, i'll have to check your page see what else you're doin'”. - NTNA Toronto, Ontario, Canada on
“Nice vocals and nice verse melody and chorus. Really nice harmony vocals. The song features a nice dramatic kind of melody. Very atmospheric mood over all. The simple keyboard lines fit the song nicely. The distorted guitar adds a nice change. The orchestral parts are a nice touch.
A very able production.” - AG Hyde Canada
